One of the most important things to remember when writing songs is not to be too critical of what you produce. Some of my best songs came from lyrics I was going to through away because I didn't think they were good
enough.
The next thing to remember is to try and keep things pretty simple as far as words. Today some songs can be way too wordy and hard to sing and memorize for most groups.
The very most important thing to do is allow the Holy Spirit to speak through you and reveal feelings, emotions and events that's going on as you sit down to write. Pray pray pray!
The more you write the better you'll get. Practice makes perfect...
